Sure, my full chosen name is Ulysses, but feel free to dock it and call me 'Uly'. The story behind that name is all thanks to the band Franz Ferdinand. They released a song a few years back titled "Ulysses", one I immediately fell in love with the name. I adopted it first as part of a pen name: after using it for a couple years, it felt only natural to take it on completely. The fact that it had connections to my favorite childhood story, the Odyssey, was a bonus.
Outside of this and my other blog, I'm a writer and artist of various mediums. I'm currently working on a literary fiction novel and a poetry anthology, both of which I'd like to follow in my father's footsteps and one day publish. As far as the graphic arts go, I dabble in photography, painting murals or on-canvas pieces, and freelance illustrating.
My first webcomic, "Uly's Comics", began as a fairly non-ambitious blog. It was originally to share my artwork with friends and family but evolved into a full-fledged webcomic for anyone and everyone. As not to change the mood of my 'gag a day' webcomic, but to still make strips relating to my being FtM, I decided to make a new spot on the web specifically for this journey.

Drink: red eyes, the holy matrimony of dark roast drip coffee and straight espresso.
Actor: David Hyde Pierce.
Actress: Natalie Portman.
Movie: Broken Blossoms.
Song: stalemate, between Swan Lake's Opus No.20. and Paganini's Caprice No.24: a battle that has been going on for years. Years.
Singer/band: Michael Jackson. No doubt.
TV show: Frasier. I watch it every morning with breakfast and coffee.
Hobby: comic artistry, of course!
Scent: a newly opened canister of coffee.
Element: mercury. A femme fatale, that.
Number: seven.
Word: aubergine.
Animal: peacock. If speaking fantasy animals, then the phoenix.
Pet: cat.
Time of day: three o'clock in the morning.
Season: autumn.
Month: January, because of New Year's day.
Holiday: New Year's day! The one time a year I have a valid reason to be up late.
Chocolate: trick question. I hate chocolate.
Sweets: a tie between baklava and lokum.
Vegetable: chickpeas. In the culinary sense, a chickpea is too a vegetable.
Fruits: lychees. Never tried it? They taste like a cross between mandarin oranges and a pear.
Name: Thuy. The most adorable name out there.
When I finally decide the winner on that song favorite, I'll be sure to let one know.
